Qatar Day - Man Fined QR8,000 in Hit and Run Case

Court of first instance punished a young man for committing a traffic accident that injured a person on the site and then running away from the scene.

As reported in Al Sharq daily newspaper, the man was slapped a fine separately for both the crimes, causing the injury to a person and furthermore for running away form the scene.
The man was bought by the prosecution to trial on charges of violating the safety of the victim because of the his negligence and than fleeing from the accident scene. The prosecution told the court this was because of carelessness, negligence and disregard of laws and order.
The court condemned him in absentia with a fine of QR 3,000 for causing injury due to negligence and a fine of QR 5,000 as the fine for running away from the scene.
